Not all naps are meant to be long.

If your baby wakes after 30–45 minutes, it doesn’t always mean something is wrong.

In fact, one sleep cycle for babies is often around 30–45 minutes, which is why many babies naturally wake at that point.

Some babies will link sleep cycles and keep sleeping.
Others need a little support or simply aren’t tired enough for a longer nap.

Before trying to “fix” short naps, ask yourself:

• Is my baby’s awake window appropriate?
• Are we expecting a long nap when a short one is developmentally normal?

Does your baby cry the second you leave the room at bedtime? 🥺

It’s not a bad habit — it’s separation anxiety. And it’s completely normal.

As little ones begin to understand you can leave (but not yet when you’ll come back), bedtime can suddenly feel scary. And temperament plays a big role in how this shows up:

💛 Sensitive kiddos may cling harder and need extra reassurance.
💛 Easygoing ones might protest briefly, then settle.
💛 Strong-willed or highly alert toddlers may resist loudly or call you back again and again.

It’s not defiance. It’s attachment.

Separation anxiety isn’t a sign you’ve done something wrong — it’s a sign your child feels safely connected to you.

The goal isn’t to eliminate attachment. It’s to build confidence.

A solid bedtime routine helps because it creates safety through repetition

Bath, pajamas, story and cuddles, when the same steps happen your child's brain learns:
"I know what is coning, I am safe, I can relax"

Predictable routines. Clear goodbyes. Calm reassurance.
“My parent leaves… and my parent comes back.”
